Tommy Horwits was the third son of Isabel and Richard Horwits, they were a family of means, both money and power. From a very young age Tommy knew what was expected of him, he also knew what the name Horwits entitled him to. He was a bit of a terror growing up, wanting nothing more then his parents attention the boy would run off any nanny the couple hired. When Tommy was just eleven his mom passed away for reasons he didn't know, he just remembered her being very ill for a long time and then just like that she was gone.
Business carried on as usual for the Horwits family after what their father thought was a respectable amount of grieving. While his mother had always given into him making excuses for the boys behavior his father would have no part in it, and would not give into the boy. Tommy came to realize that the same face he showed to the public was the one that he needed to show with his father, and as he grew older he found new ways to rebel.
He and his siblings only attended the most elite school's in Manhattan. They were all put under a huge amount of pressure given their father's political status and the family company to cast a good light on their family in the eye of the public. That wasn't hard for Tommy he knew how to play the part he was captain of his lacrosse team and a straight A student. He was incredibly charming and could talk his way out of anything. And most of all the boy knew how to keep his composure no matter the situation Tommy was always aware when he was in the public eye.
There was another side to Tommy's family a dark side, he came from a long line of werewolves. Their father having a close inner circle of others like them in both status and lineage, to his father the wolf was seen as a gift, it was a way to rise above others on the food chain. At sixteen he like his brothers before him, was taken out for a camping trip. His father left him in the woods with nothing but a gun and his cell before taking his leave. Tommy didn't quiet understand what his father thought he should do, his brothers had told of what to expect but living it was another thing entirely.
He was approached by a man who was so enraged by the very sight of him. He came at Tommy without cause as he attacked him. Tommy tried to fight him off to get away but the guy wouldn't listen. By the time Tommy drew the gun on him he had three busted ribs and his face was bruised. He tried to warn him but the man wouldn't listen it was as if he wasn't hearing him, he charged at him and Tommy put two bullets into his chest. Realization came over him as he saw the man lay day on the ground and he found himself sick unable to stomach what he'd just done. Sometime later Tommy finally called his father who picked him up a few hours later, congratulating him as his father's two associates stay'd behind to clean up the body. After that Tommy looked to find a way to deal, to escape.
Pulling away from the family responsibilities Thomas stopped participating in the photo ops and started avoiding the events in which he was expected to attend. His partner in crime was Asher Thane, the boys lived like kings among men. Fast cars, private clubs, women, and the best drugs money could by. Tommy had his hands in everything he made extra cash dealing drugs, and being some what a whiz kid when it came to electronics he dealt with unlocking fellow students phones and hacking into school records to change grades. He held private poker matches and exclusive parties. Always careful to do things in such a way that wouldn't attract the presses attention and by extension his father's.
Once Thomas had graduated he and Asher had decided to take his father's private jet to Mexico in celebration but things ended up going a bit south once Asher had left him. Having a bit of a gambling problem he'd found himself in an opium den playing poker when he was hustled by a Brazilian Woman who's boyfriend was caught up in drug cartel; and he'd somehow managed to get himself into a bit of a situation that he'd eventually found himself in London where he was able to reach out to his grandfather and get back to the states just in time for his younger sister's sweet sixteen.
Choosing to stay state side for awhile Thomas got himself into Columbia University getting into business, unlike his brothers who were groomed to follow in politics like their father, Tommy was groomed for the family business having an opportunity his father never had at becoming the CFO & board of directors once his grandfather stepped down. Besides that Thomas had always had a head for it he was good with numbers and people.
Though he had purposely chosen to stay close to home; his sister hadn't accepted her gift as the others had and in the end it had been forced upon her. Thomas felt guilty for not being able to protect her; unlike the older two Abigail had always seemed cling to Tommy as they grew up but after his own experience of accepting his gift he'd somewhat abandoned her. Not that, that was his intention but he supposed to someone of her young age she probably had seen it that way.
Keeping up with his sister became a bit of a task; after the incident that had lead to her triggering her curse she grew even more reckless; while Thomas liked to have a good time he also knew that he was in the public view and he liked to keep his private business well private. Abigail however seemed perfectly fine with making a skeptical of herself lighting the match herself doing the media's job for them; she had a good run of it.
His father's solution to the problems his sister was causing the family name was to arrange a marriage between her and his best friend Asher Thane, she was to marry when she came of legal age. He thought Asher could keep her on the correct path, his path. Tommy found the whole thing to be one big joke, Abigail had been a hellion from birth doing as she pleased. He would often tease Asher over any difficulties Abigail put him through. While Tommy and Asher thought alike when it came to his sister Asher believed he could find a way to suite both's needs while following through with their parents wishes, Tommy knew however it was doomed to start. And he was right the charade was a short lived relationship in the fall a few months before his sister turned seventeen she ran away disappearing from the face of the earth. While his father play'd the part of the heartbroken father he'd actually done very little to find his daughter. Abigail was a thorn in their father's side causing his public image more harm than good.
Thomas didn't openly search for his sister; he understood the need to disappear he'd done it himself. He merely had done it in a manor that didn't attract such attention he knew she'd come around; reach out when she was ready. So he threw himself in his studies as well as some other things; though keeping an eye on his father's email and text exchange having hacked them it was all the least he could do to look out for his baby sister.
Once graduated Thomas started being groomed into his grandfather's company; the board was hostile to say the least and why wouldn't they be he knew who they backed in the elections. Money and politics made for dirty business and any one of them would rather let his father take the seat then him.
When Asher came back to the city after family business bringing back some abandoned cousin from the sticks the two carried on as normal. They were planning a revolution; their grandfathers before them had changed the way the city ran and though some would argue they were far more civil then the old times; they argued things had not progressed enough. People were sending their children out to murder people it wasn't how one should live; though Thomas accepted his wolf he thought people should have a chose. So he brought Asher around to the business making his face a bit more familiar with those in the company.
A few months later Thomas receives a phone call from Asher telling him to meet him at his place; it was there he came face to face with his sister for the first time in about two years. It was then they planned her return into society; Thomas decided that their father's annual charity event seemed like a fitting time if any. There'd be press there and if they were going to do this they might as well rip the bandied off. Though they'd caught their father off guard he play'd it off; though his grace would soon falter in the weeks to come as Abigail didn't seem to mind spinning her own version of the truth; which hit far too close to the actual truth for her father's liking.
When their grandfather passed events seemed to go in a blur his grandfather had left him his hedge fund firm a multi billion dollar cooperation; the press had a field day and then there was his father who laughed when the lawyer had read the will cursing the old man. Thomas made a bold move firing the board in his first week he employed Asher and eventually his sister; along with a handful of people he and Asher had been in communications with for some time.
Now the wheels of the revolution are turning.
