Jack had been having trouble getting a grasp on this town. It didn't seem to make sense to him. When he was in Boston he had no problem doing his job but he just felt like there was something going on that he was just missing. As he spoke to his coworkers about this they didn't seem to be much help they suggested he go on patrol and get used to the town. He couldn't help but feel that a lot of them were upset that he was new in town and running the police department but well that was how it worked. The Sheriff had died but someone had to take the job and it seemed like the turn over rate at this department was very high.

Jack was up for the challenge and decided to go out with out a partner. He was just patrolling, the radio was on as he listened to I Ran... a song he hadn't heard in years, he couldn't help but smirk. He pulled over in the middle of town and decided to walk around a bit, he noticed how welcoming the community had been and smiled as he walked, the warm breeze was nice and now he was just trying to figure out what this town was really hiding.

Jack had been called to New Orleans, he found it weird but well he didn't argue. He was the new Sheriff of Mystic Falls and yet he felt like he had no idea what was going on in that place. His coworkers had suggested he see how people didn't in the south, that made no sense to him since he had been a cop in Boston for years but again he wasn't going to argue, perhaps he could find someone in New Orleans that could translate that diary.

His grandfather had been pushing him to figure out what it said but refused to help him, he had no idea why but knew it was in some old dead language. As he got off the plan he checked into his hotel and sighed, He pulled out his phone and sent a text to the detective that he had landed and checked in, he decided to take a walk and let the guy know that if he wanted to meet for drinks he would be talking a walk on the streets, he knew he wouldn't be hard to spot since well he didn't really come from around here.

To be honest it was nice to be back in a city, mystic falls was getting duller and duller by the moment and at least their was action going on here. He stopped into the bar he had mentioned he would be at. He had grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a bear, just taking in the sights, it was nice that he was able to come a day early so that he could get to know the city before he went to work for it, even if it was only fora short time, Jack was always one to make the most over it.

Jack had only been in town for a day and a half and he was already knee deep in cases, this town was a criminal hot spot. The Sheriff had sent him to the college, he had no idea what he was in for but well she seemed pretty confident that some teacher would know what was going on and be able to fill him in more about this town.

He wasn't sure that he knew what that meant but well he was willing to give it a chance. Alaric... that was a name...he thought to himself, back where he was from people had normal names, though he wouldn't hold it against the guy, as he walked through the halls students seemed to be nervous.

Guess they were not used to seeing a someone walking through the halls with a badge around their neck, maybe this was what the Sheriff was talking about when she told him that he should put his badge in his pocket. He finally found the room he was looking for, class was just letting out as he walked in past the last student. "Excuse me I'm looking for Alaric?" he said not sure that he even had the right room.

Jack had a pretty normal child hood, happy family though his grandfather always went on about these stories he had heard since he was a child, he was sure that they were just stories to scare him, though as he grew up his grandfather continued to tell them. It wasn’t until his grandfather past away and left him a journal did he learn of the world his parents had been trying keep from him. He learned of his Romanian heritage and that vampires had terrorized his ancestors. As he read on he found it hard to read, so he sought out his parents help. He father would have nothing of it, which only made him want to know more. His mother would only confirm certain things. One that vampires were real and Two, that their family was once targeted. Jack knew that their was more to the story though out of respect he decided to look for answers else where. The journal kept hinting that their family was a long line of something, but he couldn’t quite make it out. As he read on, he noticed his name mention as something special…All he wanted was answers. So he started to look, and as he did he found not only answers but trouble as well. One thing he did learn was that Mystic Falls seemed to be the place to get info on things like that. He decided to head their, in the mean time he was always trying to track down a vampire that seemed to be from the same place his ancestors were from. His grandfather had written something about him being special… chosen and well he had no idea what that meant, but he was determined to find out. Jack told his parents that he was heading out for a Job in Mystic Falls, being a detective for the Boston PD had its perks, and from their he was on his way to finding some kind of answer to what his grandfather was trying to tell him, as well as following this vampire who seemed to be leaving a trail of bodies all through the states he past.

Jack pulled into the town, he smirked as he moved past the sign. He had no idea where to even start in this place and yet here he was hopping he could find something that would point him in the right direction. He knew he should stop by the police department and check in right away but he wanted to get a sense of the town. It had taken a lot of convincing to get even a temporary transfer but it was the middle of the night. He looked at the clock on the car and smirked, midnight… he thought to himself, still early enough to get a drink. He drove a bit till he found a bar a ways out of the way from the town, this would insure that no one would recognize him, since the Police chief was expecting him. He walked in and headed to the bar, as he looked around he noticed that most of the people seemed to be older then him their and it was quite the tough crowd. He tried not to think anything of it, he was so much closer to getting answers, that he was sure of, but right now all he wanted to do was grab a beer, check into his motel and get a plan going. He pulled out his phone checking his Facebook as he waited for the bartender. He could feel eyes on him, and that made him a bit uneasy. Finally one came over “Just a heineken” he said with a smile. Though the mad did not return the favor. Apparently these small town people were not as welcoming as he was told they were.
